Bio
Renny Hyde is a fourth-year undergraduate student at the Georgia Institute of Technology studying computer engineering, music technology, and physics. During their time at tech they have developed skills such as embedded systems design and signal processing, and have used these skills in personal and academic projects. They are passionate about audio and computing software + hardware.
As an undergraduate researcher in the Interactive Music, Performance, Audio & Creative Technologies (IMPACT) Lab they apply advanced computer engineering and signal processing techniques to create instruments, tools, and systems for music performance. Working with Dr. Alexandria Smith, Renny created an interactive audio installation as part of the 'Resilient Earth' exhibit for Science Gallery Atlanta, running from September 14 until April 30th, 2024. Their research focuses on creating embedded systems for music performance and installations, acting as a bridge between the natural and digital worlds.
